Former 7 Little Johnstons star Anna Johnston had a blunt reaction to the news that her sister Liz Johston is expecting her second child.

Recently Liz and her husband, Brice Bolden, took to Instagram to share that they were preparing to welcome baby No. 2. “Baby B No. 2 coming early fall,” she wrote in her announcement.

Liz also opened up about her happy news in a video shared on TLC’s social media, where she revealed that their daughter, Leighton, was hoping for a baby brother. She also shared that this baby would be the last for her and Brice.

While many commenters congratulated the couple on their growing family, a few felt the baby news was a stunt timed to coincide with the return of the Johnston family’s reality TV series. (A new season of 7 Little Johnstons premieres March 17.)

“Needed a new storyline because there lives are boring,” one person wrote.

Anna – who is currently estranged from her family – agreed. “I wasn’t going to say it,” she replied.

Anna appeared on multiple seasons of 7 Little Johnstons with her siblings and her parents, Trent and Amber Johnston. But growing tension between her and her mom and dad led to her exit after season 16.

“I think it is sad that the last season [I’ll be part of] is ending like this because I did not want it,” she said in a TikTok live last December (via The Ashley’s Reality Roundup). “I want y’all to see the good side and not just people bashing me and everything like that. Bashing me for dumb stuff that they’re apparently getting onto me about, you know? So that’s hard.”

“It was hard to say no to another season,” she added. “But it just got to be mentally that I just had to, you know, stop [filming].”

The new season of 7 Little Johnstons premieres Tuesday, March 17 at 9pm ET/PT on TLC. Episodes stream the next day on HBO Max.
