Why Did Kendra Duggar Get a Mugshot But Jana Duggar Didn’t? Fans Demand Answers

19 Kids and Counting and Counting On fans follow the Joseph and Kendra Duggar arrests right now. It’s all over the media, including big outlets like AP and more. However, there’s a question that interests TLC fans. Mugshots of Kendra got plastered on social media. But wait! What about Jana Duggar’s mugshot? Read on for more on this angle

Jana’s Legal Problem

Back in September of 2021, Josh Duggar’s upcoming CSAM trial was the big news of the day. Everyone speculated about the safety of Josh and Anna’s children. So, the news that his sister, Jana ran into trouble over child endangerment also hit the headlines. The news came that allegedly, while looking after some of the kids in the huge Duggar family, one of them wandered off. As a result, she ended up charged with Endangering the Welfare of a Minor. Well, tons of people waited in vain for a mugshot pic to drop. But that didn’t happen. Why? Stick with us as we explain.

Mugshots Of Kendra But Not Jana

On a Reddit post by r/CDLEntertainmentTV about Kendra Duggar and Joseph, a few Counting On fans wondered about the mugshots for Joseph and his wife, but none of Jana Duggar. Well, there’s a good reason why you never saw a mugshot of Jana. In fact, it all boiled down to the way cops dealt with the situations. In the case of Jana, she wasn’t cuffed and booked, hauled away in disgrace. Instead, she received a written citation.

Obvious Differences

In Jana’s situation, the 19 Kids and Counting alum’s case seemed more about an accidental event involving a little kid slipping away while she was distracted. And, given the devotion to kids in the Duggar family, it’s unlikely she deliberately placed the child in a potentially dangerous situation. So, the cops gave her a court date and sent her on her way. Because she wasn’t taken into custody and jailed, there wasn’t a need for orange jumpsuits and mugshots. Now, in the case of Kendra Duggar, the situation is totally different. After Joseph Duggar’s arrest for allegedly sexually assaulting a child of nine in Florida five years ago, a follow-up check discovered, allegedly, children’s bedroom doors locked from the outside.

Citation vs A Warrent Of Arrest

That’s an issue with fire regulations and freedom of movement in Arkansas. So, her arrest, came with a warrant, per NBC News. So, that meant taking her for processing at the Washington County facility. If you don’t know, getting a mugshot is simply a standard and mandatory procedure for that. The other difference involved the setting of bail. In the case of Jana Duggar, her bail involved only $430 bail for her citation. Meanwhile, Kendra’s bond was much higher at $1,470. Notably, the higher the bond, the more serious the charges are viewed in legal circles.

Court vs No Court Appearance

While Kendra appears in court several times in upcoming weeks, Jana’s case never saw her in court. In fact, a hearing was set for January of 2022. However, that never happened as in December 2021, she admitted guilt and paid a fine of $880. So, that voided the need for any court appearance or mugshots.
