Fans React After Katie Bates Confirms She’s Still with Husband Travis Clark After His Affair

Katie Bates made it clear where her marriage to Travis Clark stands, just months after Travis publicly admitted to cheating on the former Bringing Up Bates star. As The Ashley previously told you, Travis confessed in January to cheating on his wife of four years and the mother of his two children, just hours after Katie revealed to fans on social media that she had suffered a miscarriage. While the status of the pair’s marriage has been unknown in the month following their participation in the therapy retreat, it appears that Katie and Travis have in fact, reunited. 

Earlier this week, Katie shared a carousel of nearly a dozen family photos taken during a family trip to the beach, which included a snapshot of her and Travis posing with their arms around each other. (Katie appeared to be sporting her wedding ring in the photo as well.) “Still here ,” she captioned the post. 

Katie hinted in January that she may have been contemplating a legal separation or divorce from Travis, as she claimed to have consulted legal counsel. In early March, Katie and Travis participated in a four-day intensive therapy retreat, during which they received individual and couples’ therapy. After returning from the retreat, Katie told fans the experience had been “hard” and “emotional,” but also one of the most meaningful experiences of her life, insisting that she was “leaving better than [she] came.” She hadn’t, however, revealed if she planned to stay in her marriage.

This week’s post, however, seems to serve as confirmation that she’s decided to remain married to Travis. While many fans encouraged Katie to leave Travis— telling her he will likely cheat on her again— those comments seemed to be getting deleted by Katie. Other fans of the former reality star reacted positively to the update, with Katie’s post being met with a multitude of comments from followers commending her for “fighting for [her] marriage.” “So dreamy!  This post makes my heart happy for your precious family!” one person wrote on Katie’s post, with another commenting, “Seeing you all together warms my heart.” 

There were also many comments that pointed out Travis’s presence in the photo carousel, with one person telling Katie they were “happy that Travis is back in the picture.”  “Your family is a true blessing!” read another comment. “Travis looks like he has literally transformed into a true adult man in this short time. I hope both of you can move forward with grace and compassion for each other. God is good!” 

As fans may recall, when Travis came clean about his infidelity in January (which had occurred around December), he told fans on social media that there was “no excuse” for what he did, claiming, “This was my failure and my responsibility alone.” 

“ … I know that words don’t begin to express the damage I caused or the depth of the hurt I’ve brought into [Katie’s] life, but I am truly sorry,” he wrote. “I’m sorry for the pain, humiliation, and betrayal I caused my wife through my choices. I understand that an apology doesn’t repair what I broke, and forgiveness is not something I deserve or can ask for.” 

In March– after he and Katie returned from the therapy retreat– Travis told fans that the months since he had committed adultery had been “humbling,” admitting that he had made decisions that he deeply regretted. 

• “ … I’m disappointed, ashamed, and honestly disgusted with myself,” Travis wrote, before going on to add that he had done a lot of work on himself in an attempt to save his marriage.
• “A lot of hard work, therapy, time with God… I know I’m not owed anything, but I’m desperately fighting for my wife and my family every single day,” he continued. “Thank you to everyone who has prayed for our family.”
