Insider Claims Duggars Are ‘Retaliating’ Against Caldwell Family Following Joseph’s Arrest
A friend of Kendra Caldwell‘s parents is speaking out, calling out the Duggar family for “throwing stones” at the Caldwells (not to mention evicting them from their home), all allegedly due to the fact that Paul and Christina Caldwell were the ones who turned their son-in-law Joe Duggar into police for alleged child molestation. Amy Paul— a Christian influencer with seven children— took to Instagram this week to condemn Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar and the rest of their family for allegedly retaliating against Paul and Christina. During her social media rant, Amy claimed that the Caldwells were put in an “awful situation” to have to turn Joe into the police. (As The Ashley has reported, Joe was arrested in March for allegedly sexually abusing a nine-year-old girl in 2020 in Florida.)
She also called out Kendra, Joe and his family for choosing to evict the Caldwells from the home they had been living in that belongs to Joe and Kendra, even claiming that the Duggars recently turned off the electricity and water at the home, despite knowing that the Caldwells have minor children still living there.
Kendra’s parents have been living in the home owned by Joe and Kendra since 2021. In 2025, Joe and Kendra’s transferred the home back into their name via a quitclaim deed.

In a jail phone call made last month, Joe discussed with Kendra how the Caldwells needed to get out of the home. Kendra even stated that her family will be out in a month, and that the Duggars were “going to hold them to it.” Joe and Kendra have a giggle about that, and Joe mentioned that he already has a list of tasks that need to be done at the house once the Caldwells get the boot.
As The Ashley previously told you, Paul and Christina started a GoFundMe earlier this month to raise money to help with “displacement expenses” after they were told they had 30 days to get out of the home they have been living in. Paul made it clear on the fundraiser page— which to date has raised over $31,000— that the money would be used for moving expenses and rent. According to Amy’s post, she headed to the Caldwells’ home to help them pack up. (Just to note here: Amy Paul is not “Cousin Amy” Duggar.)
“Why did I decide to drive 14 hrs to help the Caldwells? The answer is simple…there was a need and as Christians we are called to be ‘the hands and feet of Jesus’,” she wrote. “I was also appalled at the lack of Christian charity that is being shown to this precious family that is in crisis. Not only were they put in the awful situation of turning their son-in-law into the police because he wasn’t man enough to take accountability himself, but he’s also kicking them out of their house and giving them 30 days to get out! The power and the water was turned off with 8 other kids living in the house!”
Amy also claimed that someone called the Department of Human Services (DHS) on the Caldwells and reported them for abuse. “Wonder who called?” she wrote. Amy then proceeded to call out the rest of the Duggar family. Although most of the adult Duggar kids— as well as Michelle and Jim Bob— have released statements since Joe’s arrest saying they are praying for the minor victim, Amy claims that is probably not the case.
“I will tell you that not one Duggar is reaching out to the Caldwells. Not one Duggar is helping them move or asking how they can help!” she wrote. “The Caldwells share 4 grandkids with Jim Bob and Michelle. This is not the time to be throwing stones but it’s the time to rally around and support the victim and their family and Joe Duggar is 100% not the victim. Pray for their daughter, Kendra to choose her kids and leave the (alleged) pedophile and have a relationship with her family,” she added.

Amy then discusses that she’s been in a similar situation to the one the Caldwells are currently in. (Last June, Amy’s own son-in-law Carver Bowers was arrested and charged with sexual abuse of a person under 12. Carver is from another IBLP family who was closely associated with the Duggars. Amy made a video in which she stated she was the one who turned her son-in-law Carver in, despite her daughter Haley standing by Carver.)
“I am one year into this same scenario (almost) and all I knew to do was love on Christina and her precious family,” Amy wrote. “I don’t deserve any praise, it’s what ALL Christians are called to do. See a need and meet it…”
Amy continued to lash out at the Duggars, telling them to take responsibility for what Joe has allegedly done instead of retaliating against the Caldwells for turning him in. “The only emotion I have right now for the Duggars is disgust and disbelief,” she wrote. “Do the right thing and HELP your extended family from the abuse and trauma your son has caused. Your piddly statement wasn’t enough. Where are the actions?!”
(As The Ashley previously reported, Michelle and Jim Bob waited 12 days after Joe’s arrest to release a statement. In the statement put online, Ma and Pa Dug claimed they were “heartbroken” and “focused on loving their family and helping Kendra and her children during this difficult time.” They also claimed to be “praying for the victim.”)

“Even if you don’t ‘like’ someone, the truth is you raised a son and he touched a prepubescent child and you are choosing to poison the [Caldwells’] daughter [Kendra] against her family,” Amy wrote.
Based on the audio released of Joe and Kendra’s phone calls from when Joe was in jail, Kendra appears to be standing by her man, and is leaning heavily on Joe’s parents and family for support instead of her own parents. Amy wrote that the Duggars are trying to keep Kendra under their control, just as they did with Kendra’s sister-in-law Anna Duggar when her husband, Josh Duggar, was sent to prison for receiving child sex abuse materials.
“Encourage Kendra to divorce Joe, focus on her kids and give her half the money, real estate etc. Don’t make her dependent on you, Jim Bob…like she’s not a grown woman!” Amy wrote. “Don’t make her another Anna. Her family is there waiting with open arms! I thought I wouldn’t post, hopefully this was tampered down enough. If I posted what I really want I’d prob be arrested.”
In the comment section of her post, Amy clarified that the Caldwells never had the home’s utilities put in their name because they didn’t see a reason to. “They were renting from their own daughter and son-in-law and never changed it til it got cut off,” Amy wrote. “They had a good relationship til this.”

She stated that things turned sour between Joe and Kendra and the Caldwells after the Caldwells turned Joe in for the alleged molestation in March.
“The Caldwells found out and turned Joe in,” Amy wrote. “They then were told they had 30 days to get out bc [Kendra and Joe] needed the [to sell the home for] money for legal bills. Regardless, it’s Joe and Kendra’s house and they can tell them to leave because they are renters, but they should have compassion bc it’s bc of Joe their whole life has to be turned upside down. They should have said, ‘Take your time and we are sorry.’.. it’s def [Kendra and Joe’s] right [to make them leave] but it’s retaliatory.
“How about [Kendra and Joe saying], ‘Hey we know we jacked up your life and it’s in crisis, so sorry, but don’t stress and figure it out.’ Also don’t shut off water and power.” (Amy stated that the Caldwells can’t prove that the utilities were shut off by the Duggars, but that only Joe, Kendra or someone given Power of Attorney can do it.)

“The Caldwells were in the process of getting ready to move into their house on their property beside (Kendra and Joe) that they own and have been working on,” Amy added. “Then when news of the molestation hit, it was ‘get out we need to sell.’ They obv are within their legal rights to have them move out but it’s def motive behind it.”
She clarified that Paul and Christina and their kids can no longer move into the house they had been working on, due to it being right by Kendra and Joe’s home. “They have a house that is almost done on the property beside Kendra and Joe but they cannot live there now,” Amy wrote. “You would have to know the weird dynamics of that town but you definitely don’t want to run into the Duggars everywhere you go when you have trauma.”

Amy caught some backlash for her post because she seemed to be identifying who the victim is. She denied naming the victim, but clarified that the Caldwells— and even the victim— allegedly want this exposed. “Nobody has named the victim in my post but, yes, they don’t care and it’s common knowledge,” she wrote, telling another person in a comment, “The actual victim and the family don’t care and have seen the post. They don’t want to be silenced. They want it brought to light.”
The Duggars have yet to respond publicly to the claims made by Amy Paul or the Caldwells.
