She opened up about her childhood during her latest video.
The reality TV said, “Friendly reminder from someone who had four moms, one dad, and genuinely thought that was how families worked.” However, Mykelti expressed that people are just assigned a version of normal family life. She talked about growing up in a house with one dad, three moms, and tons of siblings. But the TLC star’s life changed when she married and left the entire structure for a monogamous family.

The Sister Wives star discussed her parents on a recent podcast. Mykelti shared exactly what happened in 2010 when they started filming the show. She pointed at the timelines of Robyn courting her dad, Kody Brown.
The reality TV star’s family had to secretly move to Las Vegas. Hence, Mykelti felt her dad was dealing with three life-changing events going on at once. She stated, “Without any of us knowing that time, dad did fall head over heels in love with Robyn.” But the TLC star doesn’t feel Kody Brown knew that he was in love with her. Mykelti feels people automatically go out of their way for someone they love a lot.
She continued, “My mom got jealous, because she had just barely given birth. She was going through life-changing events as well.” The TLC star agreed that mom was going through postpartum while taking care of the newborn, along with the five other kids. Mykelti explained that all her other moms also needed Kody, and they were hurt. But she thinks her dad hurt her mom the most in the process because she just had the baby.
So, Christine was hurt that her husband was spending more time with other women than with their baby. Mykelti also gave Robyn a grace for this, as she feels she could not have realized because she was new to polygamy. As per the Cults to Consciousness podcast, she believes it was too late when Kody and Robyn realized that they hurt others because of their behavior.
