Meet Natalie Alyn Lind, who plays Carter’s friend Oreana in Paramount+’s Dutton Ranch
Taylor Sheridan’s Yellowstone universe keeps expanding. After his hit neo-Western TV show aired its series finale in December 2024, Paramount+ premiered its spin-off, Marshals, in March this year on top of its two existing prequels, 1883 and 1923. Joining the Sheridanverse is Yellowstone’s latest spin-off, Dutton Ranch, which sees actors Kelly Reilly and Cole Hauser reprise their roles as Beth and Rip. Premiering on May 15, the new show follows Beth Dutton and Rip Wheeler as they leave behind their life in Montana after the sale of Yellowstone Ranch. The couple settle down in South Texas to start a life of their own, but quickly run into problems with a rival ranch.
While fans can expect to see some familiar faces from Yellowstone on the show, the highly anticipated series will also introduce a number of new cast members. Natalie Alyn Lind will star in the show as Oreana, a friend of Beth and Rip’s “adopted” son, Carter (played by Finn Little). While not much is known about Oreana or her role in the show’s plot just yet, here’s everything you need to know about actress Natalie Alyn Lind.
She is a nepo baby
Born in June 2000, Natalie Alyn Lind is the daughter of One Tree Hill actress Barbara Alyn Woods and producer John Lind. She is the oldest of three daughters. With both parents in the industry, Natalie fell into acting quite naturally. “We were born into it,” she said in a Glamour interview alongside her sisters in 2017. “When I was born, my mom was doing the TV show version of Honey, I Shrunk the Kids. When Emily was born, she was doing a movie. And when Aly was born, she was doing One Tree Hill.”
Natalie made her acting debut in 2006, starring alongside her mum in an episode of One Tree Hill. Her two younger sisters are also actors.
She was hesitant to join Dutton Ranch
Over the years, Alyn Lind has made a name for herself by starring in various TV shows, including iCarly and Disney’s Wizards of Waverly Place, which starred Selena Gomez. She also landed recurring roles in shows such as The Goldbergs and Marvel’s The Gifted. Although Alyn Lind has been acting since she was a child, she admitted that she was hesitant to join the cast of Dutton Ranch given its large established fan base.
“I was a huge fan of the show [Yellowstone], so going in and being able to be a part of it definitely felt surreal from the beginning,” she said in her interview with Woman’s World. “There’s a lot of hesitation about starting a new franchise that’s already a part of one, but I’m so happy with how the show turned out. It’s an honour to be a part of it now.”
A fan of Sheridan’s works, Alyn Lind revealed that her favourite show is actually Landman, the gritty Texas-based drama starring Billy Bob Thornton and Michelle Randolph.
Who is Natalie Alyn Lind dating?
While fans are speculating that Alyn Lind will play Carter’s love interest on Dutton Ranch, she seems to be dating another Yellowstone actor, Kai Caster, IRL. Caster, who starred as Rowdy, a young cowboy in Yellowstone, sparked dating rumours with Alyn Lind in 2022. Since then, Caster has shared several snaps of himself and Alyn Lind on his Instagram, including pictures of the couple celebrating Valentine’s Day together. He is in one episode of Dutton Ranch. He was also cast in Sheridan’s upcoming series Frisco King.
