‘Seeking Sister Wife’ Star Lorrana Merrifield Asks Fans to “Pray for Me & My Daughter”; Discusses “Very Difficult” Situation with Husband Garrick
“Seeking Sister Wife” star Lorrana Merrifield is asking fans to pray for her and her 11-month-old daughter amid an allegedly “very difficult” situation involving her husband, Garrick, and his first wife, Dannielle. As fans of the TLC series know, Lorrana– who is from Brazil– became Garrick’s second wife last year and the two went on to welcome a daughter in July. Unfortunately, things quickly went south for the plural family, as Garrick was arrested in November for obstruction of telephone services and domestic violence against Lorrana.
Although Lorrana confirmed in January that she and Garrick had reconciled, she went on to post a series of alarming videos and comments in March that left fans concerned for her well-being and questioning the status of her marriage. The following month, Lorrana hinted on social media that she was taking steps to leave her marriage, revealing that she was seeking a family attorney and planning to launch an online fundraiser in order to “help with legal costs” and “obtain proper guidance.”
On Thursday, Lorrana took to Instagram to give fans a rather enigmatic update on her turbulent plural marriage, telling followers that the social media platform is the only way that she can share what is and has been going on in her life. “ … I don’t have other means to be able to talk about everything that happened to me… and I’m really not going to be quiet anymore,” Lorrana wrote, before going on to allege that “they”– presumably Garrick and Dannielle– keep using her words against her and claiming that she “need[s] a psychiatrist among other things.”
Lorrana told followers that “the other side” (again, presumably Garrick and Dannielle) will not cooperate with her and then accused her husband of treating her “as if [she] were nobody.”
“And I’m holding myself back from crying.. so they don’t say I’m making drama or something because that’s what they say, but not about us,” she wrote, adding that, despite having people in her life who are helping her, her current situation remains “very difficult.”
While she stated in one of her Instagram Stories that she had “separated and left [the Merrifield] house,” Lorrana claimed there has been “no consideration” for her, nor has there been any communication, even when Garrick comes to pick up their daughter from her. Lorrana noted that Garrick always brings “his partner” with him for these pick-ups, something she said he didn’t always do. “ … let’s see now if now exposed just a little if he will be a man and answer me and talk to me like an adult,” she wrote, later telling followers that she has been dealing with this situation for “almost 3 months” and is finally at her breaking point because the situation is affecting not just her, but also her daughter.
“I’m not going to tell you that I’m happy .. because I’m not, and I’m suffering with situations and going through everything at the same time but I have to think about my daughter and not about me anymore!!” Lorrana concluded. “I believe in God in everything, and everything will be fine. So pray for me and my daughter .”
As The Ashley previously reported, Lorrana told fans in April that while she left Brazil “believing in a new beginning,” she was now “going through a very difficult time” and trying to “reorganize and rebuild” her life. “It has been difficult to understand how something that was once called ‘family’ can be redefined so quickly after a separation,” she wrote. “This has made me reflect on how relationships change, on what remains and what transforms over time. I am in the process of emotional learning and trying to move forward with balance.”
While Lorrana has used the word “separation” on at least two different occasions when discussing her marriage, it’s unclear if she is referring to a legal separation, or just a separate living situation. Garrick and Dannielle have yet to respond to Lorrana’s latest comments.
