TLC’s Karen Derrico Arrested After Threatening To Kill Ex-Husband, His New Girlfriend & Kids

Former TLC star Karen Derrico has been arrested for allegedly threatening to kill her ex-husband Deon Derrico, as well as his current girlfriend…and any of her own kids who allegedly are siding with Deon!

Karen’s arrest occurred last week in Las Vegas and the former reality star caught herself a plethora of serious charges, including “making threats or conveying false info concerning an act of terrorism,” which is a felony. The ‘Doubling Down with the Derricos’ star was also charged with violation of a restraining order and harassment, which are both misdemeanor charges, TMZ reported.

Three days after her arrest, Karen was released from jail. She was arraigned on Tuesday in Nevada. (The Ashley is working on obtaining Karen’s muggy.)

Karen’s official charges– which were filed under her maiden name of Karen Evonne Carter– include violating her restraining order, aggravated stalking, harassment, and preventing\dissuading a witness from testifying or producing evidence with immediate threat or use of physical force. She has pleaded not guilty and her attorney Jess Marchese claims “the allegations are completely false” and were “completely fabricated.” The charges come after Karen’s ex-husband Deon contacted authorities last Wednesday after she violated the temporary restraining order put in place in April. The order states that Karen is only to contact Deon for parenting matters, since the couple divorced in June 2024 and agreed to having split legal custody of their 13 minor children. (Their oldest child, Darian, was already 18 at the time of the split, so she was not mentioned in the paperwork.)

Deon alleged that Karen sent “emails unrelated to parenting matters” threatening to harm him “willfully, unlawfully, and knowingly.” The threat was severe enough that he had “reasonable fear that the threat will be carried out.”

“Wasn’t me!”

“I want you dead,” Karen allegedly wrote to Deon. “I could kill you and it won’t even bother me to go to jail and I’ll kill any of my kids if they take your side.”

The court documents also claim that Karen tried to stop Deon from attending a court hearing regarding the restraining order, claiming that he should “watch out,” and that she is “getting a gun and/or will have someone kill him before he can go to court.” Deon alleged in his court docs that Karen said she would “kill Deon and/or his new girlfriend and/or his children” and that “killing him would be easy.”

She allegedly also claimed that she “will see to it that he dies a slow death.” Her comments put Deon in a position of “reasonable fear of death or substantial bodily harm.”

According to Parade, Karen is currently out on $2,000 bond and is wearing an ankle monitor, which will stay on at least until their next court date on August 6. Karen and Deon were introduced to audiences in 2020 as they navigated life with 14 children on their show ‘Doubling Down with the Derricos.’ The show ran for five seasons until Karen and Deon divorced in 2024. (Interestingly, Deon and Karen has a seemingly civil divorce at the time of their split.)

As of press time, Karen, Deon and the Las Vegas Police Department have yet to make public comments on the case. Stay tuned…
