‘Sister Wives’ Leon Brown Gets Backlash For Nasty Video To Fans
Leon Brown, the only child of Kody and Meri Brown and a former star of Sister Wives, faced criticism after posting a TikTok video that some followers described as “hypocritical.”
“I grew up in a cult and then on TV when I was 14. And I’ve been trying to share my story,” Leon, 30, said on Wednesday, June 24. “I posted a video a few weeks ago just expressing my desire to share my own story, before I do that I want to set some boundaries.”
Leon, who uses they/them pronouns, added, “To start, I have gotten some comments, sort of pushy comments, being like, ‘When are you going to post this?’ I just want to make it clear — no one is entitled to my story. No one is entitled to my time. Anything I share is something I want to share. I’m doing this on my own timeline.”
Leon also mentioned feeling uncomfortable when fans of the TLC show approach them in public. “I’m not out in public to be people’s entertainment, or to be consumed by people. I’m out in public to live my life,” they said. “So if you see me out, don’t come say hi.”
Sister Wives’ Leon Brown Called Hypocritical
Viewers quickly criticized Leon’s tone in the video. One said, “Private but sharing makes no sense.” Another added, “I am pretty private but let me post about my life!! Please.” A different commenter wrote, “As someone who’s watched every episode of Sister Wives since 2010 – I probably won’t scroll past. But your words & energy don’t match. Words: I’m private. Energy: see me.”
Despite the criticism, Leon seemed unfazed, writing in the post’s caption, “Don’t make it weird, yall. I’m liberal with the block button… being respectful takes nothing from you. I want to share and I will, but y’all better behave.”
Someone else remarked, “The energy of this post was off. Idk.”
Another commenter said: “This was pretty nasty and passive-aggressive; don’t think I care what Leon has to say anymore”
What do you think about how Leon Brown sent the video message to Sister Wives fans? Was it done with tact or hypocrisy?
