Johnston welcomed her first baby with boyfriend Brice Bolden in November 2023
Liz Johnston is already thinking about growing her family.
The 7 Little Johnstons star, 22, recently spoke with PEOPLE about how she’s been settling into motherhood after welcoming her daughter Leighton Drew with boyfriend Brice Bolden last November.
Noting that she loves being a mom, Johnston reveals that she’s open to having another baby but says Bolden has a few reservations.
“Brice, I don’t want to say he was traumatized with a C-section because it was a very good C-section, but that was his first insight of the healthcare field,” Johnston tells PEOPLE.
“I’m used to surgeries, I’m used to [the] healthcare field. But that whole aspect was very new and it kind of scared him, because he did not like the whole fact of me having to go under and him not being able to be there.”

“But I think one day when Leighton’s a little older, maybe closer to school, I can convince him for us to just have one more. One more try for a little person is what I tell him,” the proud mom says. “Just for us to try, because we would definitely be stoked of having one average and one little some day.”
Johnston says she’d love to have a baby boy because her dad often jokes that Leighton looks like Bolden, so she’d like to have a son who looks like her. “It would be hilarious for us to have a boy version of me since we have a girl version of Brice,” adds Johnston.
Liz Gets Real About Parenting Struggles As A Little Person
Recently, Liz opened up about what it’s like as not just a parent, but also the struggles of parenting as a little person. So, what did Liz have to say about her experience so far?
According to Liz, random people invading her personal bubble has been the “hardest thing” about having a baby as a little person. Liz said: “That’s just been the most kind of hard part to deal with, because just people who just don’t have that respect to like, hey, just come up and ask and not just bombard your personal bubble. That’s been the hardest thing.”

7 Little Johnstons: Liz Johnston Will Eventually Have To Explain That Mommy Is ‘Different’
With Leighton Bolden still very young, she is at an age where she cannot fully perceive that her mother is a little person. However, according to Liz, she knows that this is a conversation that she will eventually have to have down the line.
Liz Johnston went on to add: “It’s just her understanding, ‘Why [are] people looking at my mom like that? Why are people coming up?’ I think that’s going to be kind of a little bit of the struggle is when we have to explain to her that mommy’s different from you because of this reason. But we will make sure that she grows up knowing that everybody in this world is different.”
