EastEnders fans think they have worked out who Maya really is after her mystery debut on the BBC soap.
Maya appears to be targeting Harvey for an unknown reason, while nothing sinister has been confirmed yet. But given spoilers have revealed she will soon get angry at Harvey for him looking at her social media which she then deactivates, it’s clear there’s something we don’t know about her.
Her sudden arrival alone and scenes with Harvey have left fans sure they know who she is. Fans think she is linked to a past character and a past storyline on the BBC soap, and she may be seeking something like revenge on Harvey.
In upcoming scenes Maya will tell Harvey that her husband passed away a year ago, after recently revealing her husband was a taxi driver. Taking to X, one fan has predicted her late husband is a past character linked to Harvey, and that this has brought Maya to Walford.
Viewers may recall that Harvey’s racist and criminal son Aaron Monroe violently beat up a taxi driver in 2021 in a racially motivated attack. The man, Mr Hussain, was left with serious injuries and Harvey learned he might be blinded.
Aaron has been in prison for the past few years over his role in a bomb plot, with his dad reporting him to the police. As one viewer pointed out Maya was clearly after Harvey, another fan referenced this plot with Aaron and wondered is Maya was connected somehow.
Noticing Maya has a similar surname to Aaron’s assault victim as well as the fact Maya had revealed her husband was a taxi driver, the theory questioned whether the husband was Mr Hussain. Could Maya be seeking revenge for the death of her husband after his attack at the hands of Harvey’s son?
One viewer posted: “So what is Maya’s deal? Seems she is targeting Harvey.” Another then said: “I can’t wait till Harvey finds out that Maya Houssain was married to the cab driver Aaron attacked a few years ago.
“Harvey gave him a fake alibi. Maya is clearly after revenge. Maya told us yesterday her husband was a cab driver. Their surnames match.”
