Jessa Duggar Makes Major Family Announcement

Fans were divided by the reality star’s big update.

Jessa Duggar, of 19 Kids and Counting fame, has announced she is pregnant with her sixth child with husband Ben Seewald.

The 32-year-old reality television personality shared the exciting news in an Instagram post on Friday.

Uploading a snapshot of a sonogram printout, she wrote in a caption to her 2.5 million followers, ‘Halfway to holding you in our arms,’ implying she is due sometime this summer.

Duggar and Seewald, who married in 2014, are parents to SpurgeonHenryIvyFern, and George, who was born in December 2023.

For the most part, her fans seemed excited about Duggar’s sixth child, commenting, “I am so excited for you all. Can’t wait to meet this sweet baby ❤️” and celebrating with messages that said, “Oh my goodness! Congratulations y’all!!! 🥹❤️.”

Several of Duggar’s family members took to the comments to express their excitement as well, with her sister-in-law Hannah (she’s married to Jessa’s brother, Jeremiah and is currently expecting their third child) writing, “Yayyy!!! Can’t wait to meet this sweet baby! 🥹❤️.” Jessa’s sister, Jill, also chimed in, commenting, “Congrats. So happy for y’all. ❤️.”

However, not all comments were positive, with many questioning why she’s having so many children, and wondering how she’ll divide her time between her kids. “I don’t know about quality time for each one !! 🤷🏻‍♀️ wow,” wrote one commenter. Another agreed, writing, “Keep popping them out like a Pez dispenser. Geez give one another a rest.”

Other fans then jumped to Duggar’s defense, writing, “I’m one of eleven and my parents made quality time for each one of us. Congratulations Jessa!!” and “Good on you guys! Poo poo to the naysayers (for there will always be some!). You do motherhood so gracefully Jessa. Congrats on your newest blessing ☺️🥰.”

Jessa and Ben are already mom and dad to five little ones

It comes three years after the star suffered a devastating miscarriage.

In 2023, she revealed she was pregnant with her fifth child while also sharing about her loss.

‘After a heartbreaking loss last year, we are so grateful God has blessed us with a rainbow baby,’ she wrote on her Instagram Story, while encouraging her fans to watch her latest YouTube video, titled ‘A Baby on the Way & Romantic Getaway!’

That February, Duggar revealed that she suffered a miscarriage over the holidays in a nearly 19-minute long YouTube video, which documented her pregnancy journey as well as the aftermath of the tragedy.

She recalled the moment she found out about the miscarriage, when her ultrasound technician told her, ‘The sac looks good. The baby does not.’

‘Nothing could’ve prepared me for the weight of those words at that moment,’ she shared, adding, ‘At that moment I was just in complete shock. I didn’t have words. I just immediately started crying.’

Jessa remembered how the technician then left the room as she and her husband began ‘trying to process the loss [while] sitting there and holding hands and crying.’

‘I feel like in some ways miscarriages can be so jarring because you don’t have clear signs of something going wrong,’ she said. ‘I had minimal spotting for 24 hours, and that was it.’

Because of complication risks, Jessa checked in to a hospital and had a dilation and curettage procedure.
