Former ‘Sister Wives’ Tell-All Host Tamron Hall Reveals Why She Was ‘Told Not to Come Back’ After 2015
Former Sister Wives host Tamron Hall opened up about the reason she no longer hosts the tell-alls for the popular TLC series.
“Fans of the show know that I used to host their reunion tell-all for four seasons,” Tamron, 54, said during the Wednesday, April 16, episode of the Tamron Hall Show shortly before she brought Meri Brown out as a guest. “I, like millions of viewers, watched the family grow and change over time.”
Tamron continued, “I have not seen Meri since I hosted the last tell-all. I will be honest with you. I was told not to come back because some people thought that the questions were too tough that I was asking. I’ve always been so fond of Meri, their family. Truly, I’ll tell you, I fell in love with their children, and now, for the first time, Meri has accepted an invitation to join our show to sit here and talk to me.”
The mom of one then played a clip from one of the Sister Wives tell-alls from the past, which seemingly highlighted one of the “tough” questions, and Tamron asked Kody Brown about his polygamist lifestyle.
“How do you feel now that so much emphasis was placed on a legal document that — I know this is going to offend you — but it legitimizes one wife of the four that you have?” Tamron inquired.
Kody, 55, gave an awkward laugh before Robyn Brown spoke up.
“Yeah, you are offending me,” Robyn, 46, said.
However, Tamron was quick to point out that “legal language may offend” Robyn, but it was “not an opinion” and instead a “fact.”
“One wife was already legitimized,” Janelle Brown chimed in. “Meri was legitimized, so what’s the difference?”
Robyn added, “I think if anyone could step into our world and see how serious our spiritual marriages are to us, they wouldn’t even bring that up to us.”
After the clip played, Tamron explained that she actually wasn’t familiar with the ins and outs of the Brown family.
“Initially, I did not want to host that show,” Tamron shared. “I was asked to do it and at the time, I said, ‘It’s a check. Done.’ I, then, got to know that family, and I fell so deeply in love with the children, and I have a lot of respect for Meri.”
When Meri, 54, joined Tamron on stage, the two embraced as Meri held back tears. She gushed that she was “absolutely honored” that she had been asked to appear on the show.
“I was, like, so excited when I was asked,” Meri said as she clasped her hands under her chin. “I always felt like I had a really cool connection with you, and I never had any issues with you. I’m honored that you wanted me.”
Fans of Sister Wives have watched relationships between Kody, Meri, Janelle, 55, Robyn and Christine Brown drastically change since the show first premiered in 2010. Since then, Janelle, Meri and Christine, 53, have split from Kody, with Robyn being his only remaining wife.
