Kody Brown Had Tamron Hall Fired From Sister Wives Tell All

For many fans of Sister Wives, Tamron Hall was the perfect host for the show’s tell-all specials. Calm, direct, and unafraid to challenge the Brown family dynamics, Tamron had a knack for asking the questions everyone wanted answers to—even if Kody Brown wasn’t exactly thrilled. Then, without a word, she was gone.

Tamron’s exit from the Sister Wives reunions wasn’t explained at the time. One day, Sukanya Krishnan appeared in her place, and viewers were left to wonder what had happened behind the scenes. For some fans, it was a disappointing shift—Suki, while warm, didn’t press the cast as hard as Tamron did.

But on the April 17 episode of The Tamron Hall Show, that long-standing mystery was finally cleared up—by none other than Meri Brown herself.

Tamron Reveals She Was Told Not to Return

During the segment, Tamron gave a recap of her experience with the show:

“Sister Wives launched in 2010,” she said. “America [was] gripped by the polygamous lifestyle of Kody Brown, his three wives (Meri, Janelle Brown, Christine Brown) and their then-twelve children … Kody took a fourth wife [Robyn Brown], children were adopted and born.”

Tamron reminded viewers that she had hosted the reunion specials for four seasons and witnessed first-hand the unraveling of the family.

“We also witnessed the family fall apart,” she noted. “Christine left the family in 2021 … Janelle followed in 2022. The premiere for the season, when the family matriarch Meri … decided to leave him after 32 years, brought their highest ratings in a decade.”

But it was after her final Tell-All that things took a turn.

“[I] was told not to come back,” she revealed. “Some people thought that the questions were too tough that I was asking.”

According to Tamron, the tipping point was when she questioned Kody’s legal divorce from Meri in order to marry Robyn and adopt her kids. She pointed out how that decision seemed to elevate Robyn’s status above the other wives.

Tamron recalled saying it felt like legally marrying Robyn “legitimize[d] one wife” over the others—a comment that reportedly didn’t sit well with Kody or Robyn. Not long after, her time as host came to an end.

Meri Brown: “I Never Had Any Issues With You”

When Meri joined Tamron on the show, the reunion was emotional. The two women teared up as they embraced—clearly no bad blood there.

“I never had any issues with you,” Meri shared, finally putting to rest any speculation that she had played a part in Tamron’s departure.

The full-circle moment brought a rare bit of closure for longtime fans of the show, many of whom had never stopped wondering why the host they loved disappeared so suddenly.

Meanwhile, Sister Wives is set to return to TLC on April 20, and no doubt the drama will continue—but perhaps without the same level of accountability viewers once got from Tamron Hall’s honest, unflinching questions.
