The Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta Star’s Passing Was Confirmed by Their Family
Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta is a VH1 series that premiered back in 2012. The series revolves around several people involved in Atlanta’s hip hop music scene.
Notably, the series serves as the second installment of the Love & Hip Hop franchise. Outliving the parent series, Love & Hip Hop: New York, the series previously wrapped up its twelfth season back in April 2025.
According to People, news has come out that one of the series’ alumni, Khadiyah “KD” Lewis, has passed away. She was 44 at the time of her passing.
As fans may recall, KD first appeared on Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta while in a relationship with rapper Yung Joc. She would eventually become a supporting cast member by the fourth season.
The news had been confirmed by KD’s brother Jay. Speaking with The Shade Room, he revealed, “This has been an extremely emotionally devastating time. All prayers, condolences, and well wishes are sincerely appreciated.” He also confirmed that the family would honor KD with a Zoom memorial service.
The Shade Room was the first source to report KD’s death. At the time, it was shared that the family wasn’t sharing KD’s cause of death.

An obituary also revealed that a funeral will be held for KD on June 11, 2025. The service will be held at Earl M. Temple Memorial Chapel in Oklahoma City.
