The Bates Family Recently Talked About Erin’s Diagnosis During An Instagram Stories Share
Viewers were introduced to the Bates family through shows like United Bates of America and Bringing Up Bates. The latter show ran on UP TV for ten seasons from 2015 to 2021. Through the show, fans got to meet Gil and Kelly Jo Bates and their eighteen, later nineteen, children. Erin is the third child of Gil and Kelly Jo, as well as their second daughter. In 2013, she married Chad Paine and has started a family of her own. On August 25, the family shared the news that she had given birth to her seventh child, Henry.
During this time, however, the family also asked fans for prayers, saying that Erin was facing complications following the pregnancy. On social media, fans would be given later updates, revealing Erin had spent time in the ICU and had endured a severe seizure. As noted by E! Online, Gil and Kelly Jo Bates recently opened up about the situation, revealing why they were hesitant to reveal too much information about the situation. In a share on Instagram Stories, they shared that the past few weeks “have been a blur.”
In the September 10 share, they admitted, “We’ve hesitated to share updates, since Erin’s diagnosis has changed several times.” They continued, “She’d recover from one thing just to experience yet another complication. It’s puzzled the doctors who’ve done a significant amount of testing, so without an exact diagnosis, & with her condition changing often, it’s been harder to share.”
The Family Also Recently Shared A Few Things That Gave Them Comfort During This Time
Throughout this time, the family had received prayers and words of support from concerned fans. The couple wanted fans to know they were aware of this and were grateful. Thanking fans, they noted the family is “grateful for heartfelt messages sent during these uncertain days. We’ve had teary nights, late nights, happy nights & a whole array of emotions. But through it all, we’ve felt a deep gratitude for the love that has constantly surrounded us!”
In a recent video, Erin’s husband Chad had shared that her test results were good, saying she was on her way to recovery. That said, the family has had other reasons to celebrate. As previously reported, Carlin Bates recently shared the birth of her third child, a girl, on social media. In a September 11 post, Kelly Jo wrote that the news was a big comfort for the family. She wrote, “A little bright spot in our world joined our family & put smiles on all of our faces!” She added, “The joys of getting to hold our newest granddaughter is exactly what my heart needed!”
