Bringing Up Bates star Erin Bates continues to receive sympathy from many fans following her near-death hospitalization. She was confined for several days after giving birth to her seventh child on August 25, 2025.
Erin suffered from septic shock and many other severe complications. She became bedridden for quite a while, and it came to a point where members of the Bates family begged the online world for prayers. Erin’s husband, Chad Paine, never left her side throughout her recovery. But she revealed in her latest post that one of her siblings was one of her biggest sources of strength while she was fighting for her life, and it’s none other than her rarely seen sister, Tori. Bringing Up Bates: Erin Bates Reveals Sister Tori’s Impact After Near-Death Experience
Erin recently took to IG Stories to share how much Tori helped during her recovery. The Bringing Up Bates star revealed a clip showing Tori whispering to her while she was on a hospital bed. Erin didn’t know that Tori was there because she was unconscious for a long time.

Erin wrote, “You have been the best friend to me. Thank you for being here for me during the scariest time of my life. It meant the world to have you with me.” Erin then made another post on IG, saying how Tori is her “forever best friend.”
She recalled all the memories they had together and how much being stay-at-home wives became such a blessing for them. Erin also revealed that Tori is one of the people who would stay by her side no matter how chaotic things get. She added, “I love that no matter how chaotic life gets, we still try to FaceTime during the week… even when little voices, sticky fingers, and tiny faces insist on joining every call! 
”
Kelly Jo’s Sweet Message For Tori
Tori is also celebrating her 30th birthday. Due to this, members of the Bates family took to IG to send her heartwarming messages. One of them is her mother, Kelly Jo, who proudly shared some of the things she loves about her daughter.
According to the Bringing Up Bates star, many people don’t know how musically talented Tori is, but she’s too shy to share her skills. Kelly Jo then gushed over Tori’s spirituality, saying that she has grown into a “godly, wise young woman.”
Kelly Jo revealed that Tori would also preach to some of her siblings, helping them get away from tough times. Kelly Jo added, “And what a phenomenal mom you are! I sit back sometimes watching with amazement at how patient, loving, creative, supportive, and effective you are!” Kelly Jo ended her message by saying that the name Tori Layne means “Victory Road,” specifically the road that points to Christ, and it’s clear that Tori has been living up to her name.
