7 Little Johnstons is returning for a brand new season. TLC dropped a preview of the upcoming season in which fans will see Trent’s mom deteriorating. Plus, Liz and Brice are getting married. 7 Little Johnstons Face Family Crisis
Season 17 of 7 Little Johnstons will see Liz and fiancé Brice Bolden gearing up for their wedding. The two got engaged in May 2025. Fans will get to follow the wedding planning journey and even go along for the ride when she says yes to the dress. After getting engaged, Liz declared it would definitely be a short engagement. They decided to have a fall wedding and have the ceremony in November. Amber tells her daughter, “Between now and November, we have a lot to get done.”
This season will also show the family coming together to say goodbye to Trent’s mom, Mary Alice Maddox Johnston, aka “Nana.” In the preview video, Trent says, “For the past six months, Nana has been in hospice care. We are concerned she is not going to be able to attend the wedding.” Unfortunately, Nana passed away in October 2025 before Liz and Brice’s wedding day. At the time of her death, the family paid tribute to her online.

Liz’s Wedding Nightmare
In the preview video, Liz Johnston told her husband that their wedding is not some redneck shindig. He wanted to wear a camo-themed suit. They decide to have their wedding in Amber and Trent’s backyard. The wedding planning continues, and tons of work need to be completed to get their home ready for the big day.
When their wedding day finally arrives, it is not at all what they expected. It’s pouring rain. Trent can be heard saying, “All of this has been ruined within two hours.” Liz then adds, “It is wet, it is rainy, it is muddy. More rain is coming. We really have to pray that the rain just goes away in time for the ceremony. I may be walking down the aisle in the pouring rain.”
