‘Sister Wives’ Mykelti Brown Feared Meri Abuse Video Would Kill the Show

Sister Wives fans recently saw Mykelti Brown sit down for an interview. During the conversation, she revealed that she and her family were worried that a Patreon video would come back to haunt her. This has since led to speculation on what was going on.

Mykelti Brown’s Video Mentioned One Of The Sister Wives In Particular

Viewers first met the Brown family through the TLC series, Sister Wives, premiering in 2010. The family is made up of Kody Brown, his current wife Robyn, and his former wives Christine, Janelle, and Meri, as well as their children and grandchildren. Mykelti Brown, also known as Mykelti Padron, is Kody and Christine’s daughter, being Kody’s fifth and Christine’s second. In 2016, she married Antonio Padron, sharing three children with him.

Recently, Mykelti had an interview on The Sarah Fraser Show. At the moment, she revealed that her family thought an old video on her Patreon would cause problems for them, even financially. Reportedly, the family feared that the video, which was about Meri, might end the TLC series. In particular, they were worried about certain wording Mykelti used in the video. During the conversation, Mykelti didn’t want to repeat the word. As she explained, “So I’m going to say it without saying it. At the beginning of our Patreon, I [said] a word that Meri did to us kids. And because of that word, it caused a ton of backlash and a ton of negative stuff. And we got in, like, severe trouble [with] family [and] other people.”

Mykelti Claimed Her Family Worried The Video Could Impact Their Paychecks

Mykelti noted that her family wasn’t too happy with the video, even being concerned it could impact royalties from the show. She shared, “Like, it was like, ‘Don’t say that word.’ ‘Cause the word can completely end the entire show, it could end all of our income, it could make investigations happen.” Explaining things further, Mykelti noted that the “word [used] in 2024 means something different than it did in 2009 [or] in the 2000s.” She also said that “a lot more context” was needed when using the word.

Notably, as noted by The Ashley’s Reality Roundup, there was speculation that this could be in reference to 2023 comments where Meri was described as “abusive.” Reportedly, a Patreon video may have been released in response to comments from Mykelti’s siblings alleging Meri of abuse, particularly towards her. However, throughout the conversation, Mykelti didn’t confirm the exact video or the word she used.

Christine Brown Woolley has also been known to have strained feelings for Meri. As the outlet noted, she shared in her 2025 tell-all that Meri’s behavior with Mykelti eventually cost them their friendship. Christine also didn’t invite Meri to her 2023 wedding to husband David Woolley in Utah. However, Meri’s child, Leon, and their partner were invited.
