Former Counting On star Joy-Anna Duggar has fans scared that she will end up “drowning” her children. They want to ensure that her kids are safe and doing well, but what is she doing wrong? Keep reading for more details on where she may be failing.
Fans Scared Joy-Anna Duggar Will ‘Drown’ Kids
Joy-Anna Duggar and her husband, Austin Forsyth, have raised some eyebrows with their parenting. She and Austin have welcomed three children: Gideon, Evelyn, and Gunner. Moreover, they seem to enjoy parenting their three, but they are not always doing the right things. The Counting On alum is in hot water once again over being negligent, and fans are calling her out. It all had to do with one of her kids being in a pool with the wrong equipment, plus all alone. Seeing the snaps of them floating along was terrifying, and it looked like they were in an unsafe situation.
Joy-Anna shared the snaps of Gunner, 2, in the pool, and it was his first time swimming alone. She showcased these photos on her social media and noted it was his first time being in the pool without being held. Immediately, followers called her and Austin out, stating that they needed to take “Child Safety classes.” They were fearful for Gunner’s life and wanted to ensure that the couple was taking parenting seriously.

Not only did the Counting On alum have Gunner in the pool by himself, but his safety equipment was questionable. Was his jacket appropriate, or was he being set up for a disaster? One stated this regarding the Duggar grandkids, which is very telling: “I won’t be surprised when a Duggar grandchild is dead from a preventable accident. Sad, but not surprised in the slightest.”

Fans and followers of the family have seen this more than once and just want the parents to take their kids’ safety seriously. Sadly, it does not appear that the criticism has changed the way that Joy-Anna is parenting. Of course, several fans chimed in and felt that Gunner was just fine.
Stop Judging
Joy-Anna Duggar will always have supporters who will back the Counting On star’s behavior. They noted that safety jackets have multiple purposes, and Joy-Anna was just fine watching from the sidelines. Moreover, she was doing the best that she could, which was celebrated. At the same time, others worried that Gunner was too small to take care of himself in case of an emergency: “I don’t think 2 year olds have the physical mobility nor the brain development to fully learn how to swim and save themselves in a life threatening situation. Therefore a life jacket would be the safest method in my opinion. Or Joy should be in the water with them. Drowning can happen very quickly.”
At this point, it is hard to judge Joy-Anna when no one was there with her. It is unclear how close she was to the water and what precautions were taken around her son. Hopefully, the former Counting On reality star was on top of her game and ready for anything. Are you shocked by this, or are you used to the Duggars putting their kids at risk?
