EastEnders ‘Final Chapter’: Actress Announces She’s ‘Preparing to Leave’ After 30 Years
EXCLUSIVE: Sonia Fowler has been an iconic character in Walford for more than 30 years, but now Natalie Cassidy has admitted she’s ‘preparing’ to leave the BBC soap
Now Daily Star has asked Google’s AI tool Gemini what it thinks could herald Sonia’s last chapter on-screen. The artificial intelligence tool had plenty of suggestions – including a reconciliation with Martin Fowler.
Gemini said: “Sonia’s past relationship with Martin Fowler has had its ups and downs. They could rekindle their romance and decide to leave Walford together for a fresh start.” It also suggested Sonia could decide to reunite with her daughter Bex.
“Her daughter Bex Fowler left Walford to travel the world. Sonia could decide to follow Bex, reuniting with her and potentially helping her granddaughter, Lexi,” it said. Gemini added: “Perhaps a close relative needs Sonia’s help, prompting her to relocate to another town to be there for them.”
But it might not be as simple as all that, with Gemini also theorising something more dramatic could be on the cards. It said: “While less likely, a dramatic event like a fire or an accident could damage her home or leave her needing to relocate for safety reasons.
“A health scare could lead Sonia to re-evaluate her priorities, deciding to move closer to family or to a location with better healthcare facilities,” the AI concluded.
It comes after EastEnders appeared to “confirm” the return of Mick Carter, played by Danny Dyer, after his character’s apparent death in 2022. Linda recently revealed Mick appeared to her in a dream, which appeared “so real”.
Now fans think the incident could be “foreshadowing” Mick’s real return, in time for Fathers’ Day. One said on X: “All seems a bit like a foreshadow?” as someone else agreed: “Linda is having dreams of Mick. I’m convinced one day he will return.”
