Former reality TV star Erin Bates Paine is in critical condition days after giving birth to her seventh child. She welcomed a baby with her husband, Chad Paine, on August 25. She was healthy enough to reunite with her son in the NICU but has since struggled with complications. Her husband begged for prayers for his wife and their newborn son, Henry.
Bringing Up Bates Star Welcomes 7th Child
Erin Bates is the third of nineteen children for Gil and Kelly Jo Bates. She married Chad Paine in 2013. She got pregnant shortly after they tied the knot. Sadly, she miscarried her first child, Angel. After multiple miscarriages, she revealed that she has a blood-clotting disorder that required medication to carry the baby to term. Erin Bates Paine had two more miscarriages before their first child, Charles Steven IV, was born. The boy, nicknamed Carson, turned ten earlier this year. Five more children followed: Brooklyn Elise, 8, Everly Hope, 7, Holland Grace, 5, Finley Marie, 3, and William Gage, 20 months.
The couple announced in May that they were expecting their seventh child. Henry Blythe was born on August 25. The Bates family welcomed several babies this year and more to come.
Erin Bates In Critical Condition At Hospital, Family Begs For Prayers
Fans of the family were already concerned about Erin Bates Paine having another baby due to her previous health issues. The birth of Henry was difficult, but she seemed to be healthy. She reunited with her newborn son just days ago. He’s been in the NICU since his birth. Chad Paine took to Instagram with an unexpected update about his wife and newborn son. He thanked supporters for their prayers and revealed Henry is “doing well” in the NICU.
“Her labor was longer and more intense than previous births. She has been fighting through it and has been such a light and sweet testimony of grace to nurses, staff, and doctors alike. We are all moved by her kindness and gratefulness in the midst of pain,” he said about his wife’s post-birth recovery.
But now it seems Erin Bates Paine took a turn for the worse. Chad Paine’s social media post continued, “Erin developed a severe UTI and kidney infection, which sent her into septic shock. She is currently still in the ICU as doctors continue to treat, diagnose, and search for answers.”
“We would covet your prayers for this beautiful girl who is such a light in a dark world. We are holding onto God’s promises,” his husband begged. The couple’s social media followers flooded the comments with prayers and hope that Erin Bates Paine recovers quickly from the septic shock. One follower wrote, “Praying that infection would leave her body in the name of Jesus!! I pray for complete healing over her and for sweet baby Henry in the NICU.”
