Inside Matt Roloff’s Stunning Oregon Dream Home That Caused His Split With Caryn Chandler
Matt Roloff has given fans a glimpse into his ultra-modern new farmhouse – that he built from the ground up – caused friction in his relationship with Caryn Chandler and contributed to their split, a source told The U.S. Sun. The Little People, Big World stars stunned fans by ending their engagement in July after eight years together.

Matt announced the shocking split on Instagram, describing it as an amicable decision and the “right step for us at this time.” But a source has now lifted the lid on what caused the breakdown of their relationship, claiming they fought over the new house, and Caryn often felt disrespected.
“Caryn ended it because Matt didn’t listen to her opinion on certain things,” they told The U.S. Sun. “She didn’t want to be making choices, but she wanted her input to be respected, and it never was.

“One thing they didn’t agree on was the house. Caryn didn’t think they needed it at first, and then once it was built, all Matt did was complain about it. “She didn’t feel respected enough to stay and found him quite difficult to be with at times. “She is also getting older and is hoping to live a drama-free life. There’s a lot of drama surrounding Matt and the family. In the end, it was too much.”
The source claimed Caryn tried to sit Matt down more than once and tell him what she felt needed to change for them to work things out.

She had just worked at it for long enough, and their relationship wasn’t changing.”
Ultimately, she felt it was the right decision to call time on their relationship and move on.
“She ended it in person, and they actually broke up about a month before Matt’s Facebook post,” the source added. “There was no specific moment that tipped things. She had just worked at it for long enough, and their relationship wasn’t changing.”
Matt had worked for months on the construction of the pair’s dreamhouse on the family farm in Oregon, which had only just been completed before the split. The U.S. Sun can exclusively reveal Matt dropped a whopping $1,461,520 on the construction. According to public records, he spent $397,500 in 2023 and $1,064,020 in 2024 on improvements to the property.
He began building the single-family residence in 2023 and completed construction in 2024. The home boasts three bedrooms, three bathrooms, and is 3,949 square feet. In October 2023, Matt showed off his kitchen in the house, as he installed low countertops and a sink for him to be able to reach. He also revealed the house had a standard kitchen for Caryn, who is not a little person.
