It appears that Sister Wives star Janelle Brown demanded her ex-husband, Kody Brown, sell Coyote Pass. Not only that, but she wanted him to do it out from under his former first wife, Meri Brown. This was something that had come up in the past, but it all comes to a head in the One on One special. Keep reading for more details on what goes down.
Janelle Was Scamming Meri All Along
It is no secret that Janelle Brown and Meri Brown had a rough relationship. The Sister Wives stars tried to get along for a very long time, all throughout their marriage to Kody Brown. Yet, Meri clicked best with fourth wife, Robyn Brown, and that was how it remained until the end. Meri was the last sister wife to leave Kody and the plural marriage, but they all had one tie left. That was their Flagstaff, Arizona, land, Coyote Pass. Former third wife, Christine Brown Woolley, sold her portion when she left and moved to Utah in 2021. Kody and Robyn seemed to be holding out, but finally, in the current season, it was time to close that chapter.

As the family was doing their final deal, Kody claimed that Janelle wanted to sell it without Meri’s knowledge or consent. However, that did not happen, and Meri seemed to forge a friendship with Janelle. Meri had gotten a release from her marriage to Kody, and that was something she helped Janelle do, as well. Now, in the One on One special, which begins Sunday, January 11th, Sukanya Krishnan addresses the sale. She brings up to Meri how Janelle may have wanted to sell Coyote Pass out from under her.

Meri, sitting next to her best friend, Jennifer Sullivan, shares that she believes this to be true. There was a period where Janelle stopped talking to her and went radio silent. She felt that something was going on, and Kody Brown went on to place blame on Janelle. The Sister Wives star could have said it was misinterpreted, but he loves to throw his exes under the bus, despite his apology tour.
Viewers Slam Kody & Robyn
Although Sister Wives fans saw Meri Brown believing Janelle Brown may have played a part, they did not necessarily believe Kody Brown. He has a long history of stretching the truth and rewriting the narrative to suit himself and Robyn, making them look and feel better in the public eye. Unfortunately for them, it almost always fails:
- I zero percent believe Kody
- I don’t believe Kody at all. I believe he twisted Janelle’s words up. And according to the documents, it was Robyn who prolonged the sale bc she signed them like two months after everyone else!
There was one who did have questions regarding Janelle and what she could have said or done: “If that’s how it went and that’s what Janelle said that’s what she should have said on the show instead of acting like she just said yeah you could do that.”
It will be interesting to see how this plays out when Sister Wives: One on One airs Sunday, January 11th, 2026. Who do you believe in all of this? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below.
