The first episode of Jay & Pamela Season 1 shows Pamela and Jay’s huge plans. According to the couple, they wanted to prioritize their health. But at the same time, they’re also looking forward to tying the knot and moving out of their parent’s basement in the next three months.

Pamela and Jay must navigate things quickly with only a little time left. The two also introduced themselves as a very outgoing couple. However, their condition may hinder their progress towards their goals. What makes their lives more challenging is that they’re using a power chair for their daily lives, making their ability to travel more difficult.
What Is Wrong With Pamela & Jay?
Jay Manuel and Pamela Chavez were introduced with a rare genetic disorder. The Jay & Pamela stars have an Osteogenesis Imperfecta Type 3, which is a type of genetic disorder where the person has increased bone fragility and low bone mass. They’re also very prone to bone fractures.

According to Jay, he wasn’t supposed to live past five years old, while Pamela said that she wasn’t even going to make it past 1-year-old. However, the two defied all odds and crossed each other’s paths. Jay revealed that they’ve already suffered over 400 bone fractures. Some of which came from simply rolling out of the bed. He added, “We’re both 3-foot-4 inches tall,” but there has been a debate between the two as Jay believes his wife is only 3-foot-3.
Jay & Pamela: How Are Jay Manuel And Pamela Chavez Today?
Jay Manuel and Pamela Chaves live with Jay’s parents in Atlanta, Georgia. The two have been active on social media, sharing how they live their lives with their condition. Jay is currently a music producer and even calls himself a “Mini Producer.” Meanwhile, Pamela is a disability and LGBTQ+ advocate. She also does social media endorsements, mostly for cosmetic products.

The two have also been going strong. Earlier this year, Pamela shared a photo with Jay and reminded fans to stay strong amid all the anxieties, fears, and discouragement.
