Why The Duggars Won’t Return To TV
The Duggars were one of TLC’s most popular families and brought in massive ratings. But their shows were canceled twice due to Josh Duggar. 19 Kids and Counting went off the air in 2015 amid the release of a police report that accused Josh Duggar of molesting underage girls. The show returned as the rebranded Counting On, focusing mostly on Jessa and Jill. Other family members were featured on the show, too. It was canceled in 2021 after Josh Duggar’s shocking arrest on child pornography charges. He’s currently serving over a decade in prison.
Despite the bad history in the family, many fans of the show would love to see the Duggars back on TV. But it’s not happening any time soon, at least according to Jinger Duggar. She addressed the possibility in a podcast episode with her husband earlier this year. She said that it isn’t the right time in her life for a return to reality TV. Jinger added, “You wouldn’t have your same film crew, you wouldn’t have your same people you’re working with. And you’re not filming as a larger family unit so there’s lots of things that would feel so drastically different if you did a show again.” Most of the Duggars keep fans updated on their lives now by using social media, podcasts or vlogs.
John & Abbie Duggar Announce Secret Pregnancy, Baby #3 Soon
Viewers of TLC’s Counting On show were invited to the wedding between John Duggar and Abbie Burnett. The couple tied the knot in 2018 and it was featured on the show. They welcomed their first child, Grace, in 2020. A son, Charlie, joined the family in 2022.
The couple took to Instagram to share a surprise announcement. Abbie Duggar is pregnant again. “We’ve been keeping a little secret … 🤭🤗 Baby #3 arriving early 2026,” they announced on social media. They involved their two young kids in a baby reveal photoshoot. Their oldest daughter, Grace, holds a large balloon with the number 1. Their second child, has a balloon with number 2. John and Abbie Duggar hold a balloon with the number three on it. The balloon has an ultrasound picture taped to it.
