The ‘Counting On’ star issued a blunt PSA about the ‘just plain rude’ remark.
Joy-Anna Duggar just sent a direct message to a fan who shamed her appearance—and the former Counting On star didn’t mince words with her blunt response.
On April 9, the TLC personality took to social media to call out an Instagram user who sent a cruel note to her out of the blue.
“Got this DM on my recent post,” Joy-Anna wrote in her Instagram Stories alongside a screenshot of a message that read, “Terrible skin.”
“This is just plain rude,” the mom of three continued. “I know I have acne. I have always had acne…it would come and go, but the last few months I’ve been struggling with BAD acne (hormonal and possibly food related).”
Joy-Anna added that she always wants to “be real with you guys,” explaining, “If I’m struggling with acne, I’m not going to use filters to cover it up, because that is life. I know so many of us struggle with it.”
She concluded her PSA with an important reminder, “Please be kind.”
Previously that day, the 27-year-old shared videos talking about a fishing date with her husband, Austin Forsyth, and showing viewers her makeup haul bag. She was fresh-faced in the clips that prompted the unsolicited fan comment.
Joy-Anna and Austin have been married since 2017 and share three children, Gideon, 7, Evelyn, 4, and Gunner, almost 2.
