Trace and Lydia recently uploaded a Q&A video with Kelly Jo. One of the questions they asked Kelly Jo was whether she always dreamed of having a big family, or if having 19 kids naturally happened. According to Kelly Jo, she never saw herself having a big family, adding that she was “terrible” at babysitting when she was still in junior high school.
The Bringing Up Bates star even shared a terrifying experience where she got locked out of the house while she was babysitting a neighbor’s baby. She continued, “And I couldn’t get back in, and I was worried to death what’s going to happen to these kids.” Due to this, Kelly Jo told herself that she would never have kids and would rather be a career woman. Kelly Jo then confessed that she would only like to have two kids if she were to have children. Many fans also took to the comments section to express their happiness at seeing Kelly Jo again.

Kelly Jo explains that it’s because her son is full of life.

Kelly Jo recalled a story of Lawson, where he was so scared of a storm that he told his father to get everyone to the basement. Lawson thought that they were all going to die, but Gil told him that everything was fine and they were safe. Lawson decided to head to the basement by himself, but a ball of fire caused by faulty lines almost struck him when he opened the door. Kelly Jo revealed that her son’s reaction was hilarious, earning him the title of being the most dramatic family member.
