Kelly Jo Bates Shares Heartfelt First Moments With New Grandbaby After Erin’s Scary Birth Complications

Since then, family matriarch Kelly Jo Bates recently shared her first getting to meet her new grandchild. This also came with a video of the touching moment, with another emotional moment included.

Kelly Jo Bates Shared That The Family Was ‘Over The Moon’ With The Good News

Viewers were introduced to Kelly Jo Bates and her family through the UP TV series, Bringing Up Bates. As seen on the show, Kelly Jo and her husband Gil share nineteen children together, as well as multiple grandchildren. Recently, the family had big news to share with the world. A new baby had recently been born to the family, with Kelly Jo having a new grandchild.

Kelly Jo’s daughter, Erin, recently welcomed her seventh child, Henry, born on August 25, 2025. Taking to Instagram, Kelly Jo shared that she has gotten to meet her new grandson. Sharing a video, Kelly Jo wrote in a caption, “This has been the most amazing week, because I got to meet my newest grandchild! Little Henry Blythe Paine was born 8-25-25 at 2:32 pm, weighing 5 lbs 12 oz and 19 in. long. We’re all obviously over the moon with excitement and joy! God is so good!”

Fans Also Appreciated Seeing Erin’s First Moments With Her New Son

The video opened up with Erin lovingly talking to her “little man” as he rested in the incubator. He then turned his head up towards his mother, possibly recognizing her voice, before the video cut to a series of photos. Fans then got to see the moment of Kelly Jo meeting Henry in the hospital. She could be heard calling him “so precious” as he looked up at her. The video was set to an instrumental version of “You Are My Sunshine.”

As previously reported, Erin and her husband, Chad Paine, originally broke the news of Henry’s birth on social media. At the time, they asked fans for prayers for Erin amid “complications” during the birth. Taking to the comments, fans shared their reactions to seeing some of Henry’s first moments with his mother and grandmother. A few fans especially noted Henry’s reaction to “meeting” Erin.
