Kendra Duggar Arrested As She And Husband Joseph Face New Charges In Washington County
After reports have come out over Counting On alum Joseph Duggar facing charges from an alleged Florida incident, news has come out that his wife, Kendra, is currently facing other similar legal issues. In addition, it has been reported that Joseph is also facing additional charges. Police have also been sharing more information about the story, including the charges against the couple.
Joseph Is Currently Being Held At A Detention Center In Washington County
Viewers got to meet members of the Duggar family through reality shows, including 19 Kids and Counting and Counting On. Joseph is the seventh child and third son of Jim Bob Duggar and Michelle Duggar. Joseph married Kendra Caldwell in 2017, with the two sharing four children together. However, news has recently come out involving charges being filed against the two.
Joseph is currently being held in the Washington County Detention Center. He is already facing charges over the molestation of a victim less than 12 years old, as well as lewd and lascivious behavior, tied to an alleged 2020 incident. He was previously arrested in Tontitown on March 18.
However, according to NNWA Fox 24, both Joseph and his wife are now facing new charges in Arkansas. Authorities reportedly arrived at the Duggar family compound around 1 PM local time. There was reportedly a warrant for Kendra’s arrest. However, she wasn’t home at the time.
Police Confirmed That The Arkansas Charges Are Unrelated To The Florida Case
Tontitown police told the outlet that the Duggars were each accused of four counts of second-degree endangering the welfare of a minor. They also face four counts of second-degree false imprisonment. Police have confirmed that the Arkansas charges are unrelated to the previous Florida case. However, the incident in Florida allegedly inspired the investigation into the more recent charges.
At this time, it is believed that the case is still under investigation. However, as the alleged victims are minors, many details were classified at this time. The outlet noted that Joseph’s booking shows that he already has a court date for his Arkansas charges on April 29 at 2 PM local time in Elm Springs District Court. However, booking details for Kendra weren’t available at this time.
On social media, it had been shared that Kendra turned herself into police. However, it is unclear if authorities have confirmed this at this time. It was also unclear where their children were at during this time.
Joseph is not the only member of the family to face similar charges. Back in 2021, Joseph’s brother, Josh Duggar, was arrested on charges of receiving and possessing child sexual abuse material. Eventually found guilty on all charges, he was sentenced to over 12 years in prison in 2022.
