Meri Brown has shared more details about how the Browns financed their move from Las Vegas to Flagstaff. A teaser for part 2 of the tell (airing January 18 on TLC) reveals more stunning details about the Brown family’s finances, including how they financed the purchase of Kody and Robyn Brown’s large Flagstaff home.
Meri and Kody Brown have different takes on the sale of their Las Vegas home
Sister Wives fans have long known that when the Browns moved from Las Vegas to Arizona, they used money from the sale of their Nevada homes to buy new houses and land near Flagstaff. But some details of that arrangement have remained murky. But Meri is now admitting that all of the equity she had in her Vegas house went to Kody and his fourth wife Robyn, who used it to buy a large house for her and her children.
Meri dropped that bomb after Kody – who split from his first wife in early 2023 – claimed she wanted “all the money” from the sale of her Vegas home, which she occasionally shared with Kody.
“That’s not how our divorce decree went,” Kody explained to host Sukanya Krishnan in a clip from the upcoming episode that was shared on Instagram. (Kody and Meri legally divorced in 2014.) “It was 50-50. Then she wouldn’t recognize all the money Robyn and I put into Coyote Pass, but yet, still wanted 25% of it.”
But when Krishnan asked Meri about how the sale of the Las Vegas home went down, she told a slightly different story. The TLC personality said she “never fought” Kody over splitting the proceeds from the sale equally, even though she was the one who paid the mortgage.
“I got an email back from him, in the past week or so, saying that I demanded the full amount,” Meri said. “Sure, it would make sense that I get it because I was the only one who lived in [the house] for the majority of the time that we owned it. And I’m the one who made all the payments. But you know what, your name was on it, so you can have half of it.”
‘Sister Wives’ star says her money went to buy Robyn Brown’s house
A confused Krishnan wanted to know why Kody got the equity in his and Meri’s home.
“That was the loan that I gave to purchase Robyn’s house in Flagstaff. That’s that money,” Meri explained.
“Every penny of the house you sold in Vegas went straight to Robyn’s house?” Krishnan asked.
“Yes,” Meri replied. “And this is something I consented to never talk about. But we’ll talk about it now.”
Sister Wives airs Sundays at 10 p.m. ET/PT on TLC.
