Her profile tag still has the Brown, but it may be the next one to change now that Meri has officially ditched her ex-husband’s last name in her bio. Meri’s fan base only knows her as Meri Brown, but it is interesting that she is now just ‘Meri’ in her bio. Meri’s maiden name before she married Kody over 30 years ago was Barber.

Meri has previously stated that it is indeed difficult that she’s forever tied to Kody by having his last name online. But at the same time, it’s how people have known her over the years. Meri moved back to Utah following her split from the polygamous marriage — and has re-entered the dating scene. “Prince Charming has not arrived. I’m not really looking for a prince,” she explained in an Instagram video in April 2024. “No, I’m looking for a king. There’s a bit of an energetic difference there. A prince is still a boy. I want a man who knows who he is.”

Recently, Meri announced a major life update by sharing an Instagram Story about her bed and breakfast business, Lizzie’s Heritage Inn. Meri has decided to resume renovations and posted a picture of the interior of her business, which featured a painted wall and wooden drawer cabinet. She mentioned, “Things are finally happening around here,” indicating that the renovations have started, and she is prepared to revamp her business. Although Meri didn’t disclose details about her plans for Lizzie’s Heritage Inn, she hinted she would be reopening it soon after temporarily shutting it down in August 2024.
