‘Sister Wives’ Shocker: Christine Brown Blows Robyn & Kody Up In New Memoir

For years, Sister Wives fans have followed Christine Brown through the ups and downs of her plural marriage to Kody Brown. But in her new memoir, Sister Wife: A Memoir of Faith, Family, and Finding Freedom, released September 2, Christine finally takes full control of her story—revealing long-suspected tensions and the real reasons behind some of the family’s biggest decisions.

One of the most striking revelations centers on the Browns’ controversial 2017 move from Las Vegas to Flagstaff, Arizona—a choice that fractured relationships and, as Christine suggests, may not have been as transparent as it appeared on TV.

A Sudden Decision That Changed Everything

Christine recalls that the idea came out of nowhere. “One day, out of nowhere, Kody sat us all down and explained that we needed to leave Vegas, saying it would be safer and better for us financially. He presented a plan, but said we could pick where we ended up. As it turned out, even the picking of the place had been preordained.”

For Christine, the decision wasn’t easy. Uprooting her children from their schools and friends weighed heavily on her. Still, she put her children’s relationship with their father above her doubts. “I couldn’t split up the family. I believed this was my kids’ best chance to have a good relationship with their dad.”

Hidden Motives?

Only a month after settling in Flagstaff, Christine says she discovered a detail that changed the way she viewed the entire move: Robyn’s son, Dayton, had been accepted to Northern Arizona University. The timing left her questioning whether the relocation was really about safety and finances—or about convenience for Kody and Robyn’s family.

“I was furious. Was that why we moved? So Robyn could be closer to her son while I was pulled farther from my children?” she wrote, referencing the heartbreak of leaving her adult daughters Aspyn and Mykelti behind in Utah.

The Fallout of Coyote Pass

The move to Flagstaff also came with financial baggage. The Browns purchased land on Coyote Pass with the vision of building a sprawling family compound, each wife in her own home. But the dream quickly unraveled. Between strained relationships and mounting costs, the plan collapsed. Earlier this year, the property was sold—another symbol of how far the family drifted from its once-shared vision.

Christine’s memoir doesn’t just revisit the Flagstaff move; it reframes it. What looked like a family united on television was, behind the scenes, a family cracking under hidden motives, painful sacrifices, and decisions that left lasting scars.
