John David Duggar and his wife, Abbie, expect baby number 3 next year, and recently, she revealed that she’s struggled with her pregnancy, which so far, involved hospitalization. Naturally, Counting On fans felt bad for her because she and her husband seem like couple goals for TLC viewers.
The News About A Difficult Pregnancy
On October 16, the joint Instagram account of John David Duggar and Abbie saw a collection of photos and reels arrive. In it, some gorgeous photos arrived, and if it were not for the caption, TLC fans might not have known anything was wrong.
They revealed that some beautiful places featured in their summer fun. In fact, some fans recognized the places they visited and they’d taken a trip to Jackson Hole, Wyoming. However, in the caption, the Counting On alums let their followers know that the current pregnancy wasn’t going well. Or, at least, until recently, it hadn’t. In the caption, Abbie wrote: After such an upside-down summer with all the pregnancy sickness and hospital stays, this time together felt extra special and refreshing!
What Is Wrong With Abbie?
Well, she didn’t elaborate much on how she felt unwell, or what the problem was. Nevertheless, a previous Instagram post from a couple of weeks ago revealed the problem. And, once again, she suffered from hyperemesis gravidarum.
Fans found out because she’d used the hashtag #hyperemesis. In that post, which showed her proudly displaying her baby bump, she’d written: A little over half way! We had a pretty rough go of it the first half and I am so thankful to be feeling much more like myself again! God is good!

Not The First Time Being Ill
Back in 2022, when John and Abbie expected their second child, Charlie, she was spotted in a wheelchair. That incident sparked rumors about her health. Later, the reveal arrived that she struggled with hyperemesis gravidarum. If you don’t know, it’s a bit like heightened morning sickness. However, the nausea and vomiting can be so severe that it leads to dehydration and a lot of physical weakness. Possibly the hospital stays were to help keep her electrolytes balanced.
