Bringing Up Bates star Erin Bates returns to social media to share updates about her life as she leaves behind one of her most chaotic years in life. Erin almost lost her life after giving birth to her seventh child on August 25, 2025. She suffered from severe complications such as UTI and kidney infection.
Erin had to be confined and was unconscious for several days. Erin has been recovering well, and many of her family members showed support during her battle. ‘Bringing Up Bates‘: Erin Bates Reveals Why She Skipped Family’s Biggest Gathering
Erin recently took to IG Stories to address the ongoing speculations as to why she wasn’t at the Bates family’s Christmas party last year. Many fans suspected that Erin was distancing herself from her family. However, Erin revealed that they live 9 hours away from Gil and Kelly Jo’s place.

Due to this, it’s going to be a long ride, and it’s going to be difficult with all their kids. Regardless, Erin revealed that there’s nothing wrong between her and her family. She also said that they’re planning to go on a trip this year. She wrote, “We try to make the trip (the whole family) at least once a year. We will be going in May and are really looking forward to it!” Erin stated that they caught up with some of her siblings when Chad took her to Smoky Mountains on their anniversary.
Erin Shares What She’s Been Up To
Erin answered other questions on IG Stories. One of them is what’s keeping her busy amid her recovery. According to the Bringing Up Bates star, she assigns household chores to her kids, while she handles the kitchen and dining area. Erin also revealed that Chad does the laundry, and working as a team has been a huge help while she’s healing from her health issues.

Erin shared on her IG Stories that she and Alyssa are only an hour away from each other. As a result, they’re able to spend much more time with each other compared to their other siblings. Erin added, “We are about an hour away! We love spending time together when we can! Florida is wonderful.”
Erin also took the opportunity to sell some of her products online, showing that she’s back to hustling after skipping many days off to focus on her recovery. Furthermore, Erin said that she’s focusing on keeping her kids away from screentime, giving them more opportunities to play outside. She wrote, “Lots of outside time!
