Former Counting On star Joseph Duggar has now allegedly confessed to inappropriate behavior with a minor. This has come to light after he was arrested and charged with Lewd and Lascivious Behavior, involving unlawful sexual activity with a minor. Joseph Duggar Confesses To Child Molestation
Many Counting On Fans were initially confused when they heard the news of Joseph Duggar’s arrest and what it was for. This was all too familiar as his older brother, Joshua Duggar, is currently serving time. Josh was sentenced to over a decade and is behind bars for receiving and possessing child sexual abuse material. Therefore, hearing that Joseph’s crime was along the same lines was a head-shaker. Yet, some wondered if this was an old story and it was really about Josh; it was not. Back in 2020, Joseph allegedly touched a nine-year-old girl inappropriately.
They were vacationing in Panama City Beach, Florida, and she was with her family. However, as time went on, Joseph’s requests became more inappropriate. Per the Bay County Sheriff’s Office:
“As the vacation continued, he also asked her to sit next to him on a couch and covered them with a blanket. During this time, Duggar manipulated the victim’s underwear and grazed her genitals. Duggar would also continue to rub his hands on her thighs.”
Joseph offered an apology, which made it stop, but the girl’s father confronted Duggar. That was when he allegedly confessed what he had done, not only to her dad but to the “Tonitown detectives.”
As of now, Joseph Duggar is behind bars, and it is unclear what is next for the father of four. He is currently married to Kendra Duggar, whom he wed in September 2017 after a three-and-a-half-month engagement. There are not a lot of questions regarding how the children were raised. Their parents, Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar, instilled the teachings of the Institute in Basic Life Principles (IBLP). Unfortunately, something went very wrong, and many are paying the price.
