In August 2025, Erin gave birth to her seventh child, Henry Blythe. However, the Bringing Up Bates star suffered from complications, resulting in her longer stay in the hospital. It was revealed that Erin suffered from a severe UTI and kidney infection, which then escalated to septic shock. She nearly lost her life, and members of the Bates family gathered to support her. Fortunately, Erin won over the complications. She couldn’t walk for several days, but her recovery went smoothly. At this point, Erin is back selling handcrafted items and beauty products online. It also appears that her near-death experience brought her and her husband closer than ever.
Erin Relives Worst Day Of Her Life
In an Instagram post, Erin shared a clip of herself talking to her father while half-conscious. It was the time when she suffered from a septic shock. According to the Bringing Up Bates star, that moment with her father will always make her cry. Erin wrote, “Some moments are etched in your memory forever. This never fails to make me ugly cry. 😭 This captures who my dad is —always encouraging and knowing exactly what to say. 🥹”
Erin went on to gush over her Gil, saying that he’s known to lift people’s spirits and speak hope into hard situations. Erin’s post is also a tribute to Gil on Father’s Day. She added, “I love you, Dad. Happy Father’s Day! ❤️ @thebatesfam.” Many fans were left in awe by the father-daughter moment.
