When Kendra Duggar spoke to her husband Joseph Duggar during his short stint in jail before he was released on bond, one thing she told him in the released recorded calls was not to talk to Greg. She didn’t mention a last name or really, any other details. She just told him, according to People, not to say anything to this mysterious Greg person.
Now, people want to know who Greg is because Kendra was so quick to cut off. They have speculated about it on Reddit, as fans and non-fans of the Duggars tend to do. And most have a general idea about who the man is and why Kendra might be so against her husband talking to Greg as he deals with his legal troubles and allegations.
Kendra Duggar specifically told Joseph Duggar not to talk to Greg.
During one of her calls to Joseph, after Joseph mentioned talking to a mysterious Greg, Kendra warned him against it. In another call, she advised Joseph not to talk to anyone outside of their immediate circle, whatever that means. “Just stay focused,” she said. “We got a lot of moving parts right now. Lean in to the people you can, and then, you know, don’t go outside that circle.”
After she told him, “Make sure that you talk to Travis only in this situation,” in reference to attorney Travis Story, who has been connected to the Duggars for years, Joseph admitted that he also spoke to a man by the name of Greg. “Do not talk to Greg whatever you do,” Kendra said after that. She added again, “Do not.” Now, people think they might know who the elusive Greg is and why he is apparently so detrimental to the well-being of the Duggar family. Or, at least, to Joseph.
Greg could be someone who is on the outs with the Duggar family.
In the Reddit thread about who Greg might be, users speculated that he is another attorney who once worked with the family, Greg Payne. If Kendra doesn’t want Joseph talking to him, then it could mean something happened between Greg and Josh or another member of the family at some point.
“It sure says a lot about the Duggars that everyone seems to have falling outs with them,” someone commented in the Reddit thread. “I really hate TLC for making this disgusting family famous.” Someone else wrote, “I think Greg was the very first phone call that was released. I assumed it was a bail bondsman. I think they were blaming him for releasing the recorded audio.”
According to the Northwest Arkansas Gazette, Greg Payne once represented Josh as one of his attorneys in his child sexual abuse material federal case. In the end, though, he may have been released from the case, because he was not one of two attorneys who represented him at trial. However, someone added on Reddit, “Interesting that Joe was still in touch with him.”

For Kendra and her lesser misdemeanor charges of second-degree endangering the welfare of a minor and second-degree false imprisonment, again involving her children, she has found legal counsel of her own. Or, rather, Jim Bob Duggar likely made sure she was represented properly. Because, like Josh, Kendra is using Travis Story as her attorney, which she told Joseph in a jail call, per People. “I’ve been talking to Travis,” she told him on one of the recorded calls. “I’ve got him as my attorney right now.” She made sure Travis was working with her on her specific case regarding the kids, and he was not, at that time at least, hired for Joseph’s more serious case. But with the Duggars, they certainly do their part to keep the lights on for Travis’s law firm.
