‘Landman’ Season 3 Premiere Date Info, Filming Updates, And More

The Luke Grimes-led Yellowstone spinoff Marshals just wrapped its first season, while the Dutton Ranch spinoff starring Kelly Reilly and Cole Hauser is just getting started. In other words, the Taylor Sheridan Universe is still going strong in 2026. So does that mean new episodes of Landman are on the horizon?

Following the massive success of its second season, Taylor Sheridan’s gritty West Texas oil drama Landman is officially coming back. Paramount+ wasted no time locking down the future of the Billy Bob Thornton-led hit, giving fans plenty to look forward to. Here is everything we know so far regarding the premiere date, production timeline, and story direction for Landman Season 3.

Season 3 Production & Filming Timeline

Taylor Sheridan is notorious for keeping his productions moving at a breakneck pace, and Landman is no exception.

  • The Renewal: Paramount+ officially greenlit Season 3 in December 2025, right in the middle of Season 2’s highly-rated broadcast run.
  • Filming Start: Production is locked in and confirmed to begin shooting in August 2026.
  • Location: The cast and crew will be heading back to the oil fields and boomtown hubs of Texas to capture the signature, rugged realism of the Permian Basin.

Release Window Prediction

While Paramount+ hasn’t stamped an exact calendar date on the premiere yet, Sheridan’s shows follow a highly predictable annual release pipeline. Both Season 1 (2024) and Season 2 (2025) premiered in mid-November. Given that filming kicks off this August, Landman Season 3 is highly anticipated to premiere in November 2026.

Cast: Who is Returning?

The heavy hitters of M-Tex Oil and the Norris family are expected to return to weather the next economic and personal storm.

Actor Character Role / Status
Billy Bob Thornton Tommy Norris The relentless M-Tex President holding the operation together.
Ali Larter Angela Norris Tommy’s ex-wife, dealing with the evolving family chaos.
Demi Moore Cami Miller The powerful owner of M-Tex Oil following the shift in company dynamics.
Jacob Lofland Cooper Norris Tommy’s son, continuing his grueling journey on the roughneck oil crews.
Michelle Randolph Ainsley Norris Tommy and Angela’s daughter.

Note: While additions like Sam Elliott (T.L. Norris) and Andy Garcia (Danny “Gallino” Morrell) shook up Season 2, expect Sheridan to introduce a few more surprise power players to the oil patch for Season 3.

What Will Season 3 Be About?

While Taylor Sheridan writes with high secrecy—often leaving the cast in the dark until scripts arrive on set—Billy Bob Thornton already has a strong hunch about where the narrative is heading. Speaking at a recent Paramount+ panel, Thornton noted that while Season 1 was heavy on danger, cartel threats, and high-stakes tension, Season 2 leaned deeper into the eccentricities of the Norris family and the corporate mechanics of the oil trade.

“My guess is that Season 3 is gonna be a combo of Season 1, which had more tension and danger, and Season 2, that was more about the wacky family and the oil business,” Thornton teased. “It’s going to be an even combo of both.”

Expect the upcoming season to deal heavily with the fallout of the volatile oil market, corporate overreach from Cami Miller’s new regime, and the ever-present danger that comes with working a multi-billion-dollar oil rig.
