‘Sister Wives’: Paedon Brown Opens Up About Devastating Fallout With Kody
In a recent Cameo video, Sister Wives star Paedon Brown confessed that he is heartbroken over the actions of his estranged father, Kody, adding that each time he learns something new that his dad has done, or a fan mentions Kody to him, he gets even sadder. In the video– which was posted in late January— Paedon offered some candid advice on dealing with fractured relationships with parents, citing his own estrangement from his father. (As fans of ‘Sister Wives’ know, Kody is estranged from many of his 18 children, including Paedon, one of the six kids he shares with ex-wife Christine.)
In the video (that was recently posted to Reddit), Paedon addressed a woman named Sarah, who had seemingly reached out to Paedon for insight on dealing with her own father. While Paedon told Sarah he hoped she’d “get a lot” out of his video response, he admitted that he had “no advice” for her, before addressing some of the complicated feelings he has towards his own father.
“My heart breaks every time somebody talks about him,” Paedon said, referring to Kody. “My heart genuinely breaks every time I learn another f**ked up, messed up thing that he has done. The only advice I have, is you have to be strong in front of people who hate him,” he continued. “Because in front of my family– I’m here with family, I’m about to hang out with family– it’s dark s**t and all of us are like, ‘Yeah, we’re sad, we’re sad that this is the situation.’”
As the Cameo continued, Paedon referred to his lack of relationship with Kody as “heartbreaking,” before hinting that certain encounters with fans have made the situation more difficult for him, particularly when one fan said to his face, “I hate your father.”
“ … she was just okay to tell me she hates my father,” Paedon recalled of the fan encounter. “I’ve had so many people justify their hatred of my father to my face.” Paedon went on to state again (more than once) that he did not have advice for the recipient of the Cameo and even apologized at one point for “the video [they’re] receiving” from him. Still, Paedon told the fan he hoped she was doing well and encouraged her to “keep going.”
“ … I’m sorry that you have a tough relationship with your father,” Paedon said. “You deserve much better and I have no advice, but you are killing it, Sarah… keep going, keep going, keep going… Take another step, forgive, forgive, keep going,” he added. “Forgiveness is not for them, it’s for you. Forgive and keep going … .”
Paedon confirming that his relationship with Kody remains rocky comes nearly five months after he revealed on social media that he and his father haven’t “had an actual physical conversation” since his brother Garrison’s funeral in 2024. (As fans of ‘Sister Wives’ know, Garrison– the son of Kody and ex-wife Janelle– died in March 2024 by suicide at the age of 25. At the time of his death, Garrison– like many of the Brown siblings, including Paedon– was estranged from Kody.)
“I keep seeing [people asking], ‘Do you talk to your dad? Do you talk to your dad? Do you talk to your dad?’” Paedon said, while doing a Q&A with fans online. “A, first of all, would ya hate me if I did talk to him? B, no [I don’t talk to him]. “Last time I talked to him was a while ago,” he claimed. “Last time I had an actual physical conversation with him was at [Garrison’s] funeral.”
A Reality Fans Saw Coming?
Longtime viewers of Sister Wives have often speculated that the cracks in Kody’s relationships with his children would eventually widen. From the earliest seasons, audiences observed tension brewing beneath the surface. As the family expanded, relocated, and restructured, emotional strain became more visible.
Now, those concerns appear to have materialized. Whether reconciliation is possible remains uncertain. But what is clear is that for Paedon, the situation is not just tabloid drama — it’s deeply personal. And deeply painful.
