Christine Brown has sparked a debate after she questioned why some couples like to go on separate “girls or guys trips” without their spouses.
The Sister Wives star addressed the topic while sitting down with her husband David Woolley at their Utah home, in a conversation she dubbed “Wonder with the Woolleys,” she wrote in the caption of her April 16 Instagram Reel.
“We are wondering something,” Brown begins. “So, there’s been several friend groups, girls, who invite me to go on girl trips. Girl trip only. And, there’s such a thing as guys trips only. I’m like, ‘I’m married. Why would I go on a girl trip?’ I don’t understand that at all.”
She notes that she never wants to vacation without her husband because “the whole time I’m going to be gone, I’m going to be missing him,” and adds that they both have similar vacation styles.

“I like how we both vacation,” Woolley chimes in. “The youngest generation seems like guys do their trip, and the girls do their trip. And we like to vacation together because I wake up early, you wake up early. And so, we’re on the same wavelength.”
He admits that he “just doesn’t understand” the concept of separate trips, and asks, “Is there something that we’re missing? Am I too old to get it?”
Even though the two have been married for three years now, Brown still refers to herself as a newlywed who is “excited to be in a marriage where [Woolley] likes to spend time on vacation with me,” she says. “I think we just like to spend time together, but I like couples vacations,” she concludes. “I just don’t see the point of going on a girl trip.”
Many users flocked to the comments to share their opinions on the controversial topic. Siding with the couples’ point of view, one user agreed, “Why would I ever want to go anywhere without my husband? I love hanging out with him,” followed by another who admitted they “never understood” the concept either. “I’m with ya. Been married 23 years and my husband and I don’t go on girl or guy trips. We travel together. Don’t want to do it nor understand it. But hey everyone unto their own,” another said.

However, others disagreed with Brown and Woolley, with one noting that separate friend trips are “good for the soul.”“You keep your independence and you have relationships outside of your marriage. It’s healthy and it’s supportive and it’s fun,” another added. A different person then responded to Brown’s claim that girls trips often result in a “bitch fest” where friends talk about other people, or their husbands, behind their backs. “Agree to disagree. Girl trips are so special. If it’s just a bitch fest, you’re doing it wrong. He’s your best friend. I’m sure you vacation well together but if you had female best friends, you would understand,” the comment read. Another added, “It’s healthy to have friends. And especially a group of women who build you up and not gripe about husbands. It’s also very beautiful to miss your spouse.”
Brown and Woolley have been married since October 2023, when they tied the knot at their “fairytale” Utah wedding in front of 330 guests. The wedding came after Brown left her polygamous marriage of over 25 years with ex Kody Brown in November 2021, which was documented throughout the TLC reality series.
